• What is a Descriptive Text?

   Descriptive text is a text which says to describe a particular person, thing, or place. Jadi, Descriptive text itu menjelaskan atau pun menggambarkan sesuatu secara detail.

• Structure Descriptive Text

a). Identification (Introduction/classification)

       About what specific topic, person, idea, or thing is being described or explained and how is the topic being describe or explained.

b). Description (Characteristic features)

       About what features or characteristic are important to remember or understand about the topic being described.

• Language components are used Descriptive Text

1). Specific participant : it can be something which is not common and usually unique because it is the only one in the world.

2). The use Adjectives : they can be adjectives, adjective phrases, or adjective clauses.

3). The use of Simple Present Tense : is used in sentences that express activities or facts that happen in the present. This tense uses only one verb.

4). The use of Action Verbs : a word that basically show an action within a sentence.

5). Figurative Language : a type communication that doesn't use a word's strict or realistic meaning.

6). The use of Linking Verbs : example ; has/have ; is/am/are ; feel/feels,

do/did/does.

• Social Function Descriptive Text

   Yang dimaksud fungsi sosial dari teks yaitu adalah untuk apa adanya teks tersebut dibuat. Example Social Function Descriptive Text :

    1. Social

a). Iklan (menjelaskan kepada masyarakat tentang informasi iklan tersebut)

b). Lowongan pekerjaan

c). Informasi orang hilang

d). Sekolah Kedinasan (seperti adanya tes kesehatan mata, cek tb & bb, dll)

    2. Place

a). Jual tanah
b). Jual rumah
c). Tempat kejadian suatu kasus
d). Tempat wisata

    3. Condition

a). Bencana alam
b). Fenomena alam
c). Suatu acara

Descriptive Text writing using 5 senses :

1. Sight

Example => I can see the bright blue water and the golden sand. 

2. Smell

Example => I can smell the fresh air.

3. Hearing

Example => I can hear people talking and children playing.

3. Taste

Example => I can taste the salt water on my tongue.

4. Touch

Example => /can feel my feet sinking into the soft sand.

Adjective Word Order

menggunakan rumus OSASCOMP. 

O : OPINION = opinion/observation

S : SIZE 

A : AGE = how old is it?

S : SHAPE

C : COLOR 

O : ORIGIN = where is it from?

M : MATERIAL = what is it made of?

P : PURPOSE = what is it used for?

Identifying Adjective Order

Example :

Identifying Sentense Structure 

dengan rumus SVOMPT.

S : SUBJECT = like the person, place, or thing.

V : VERB = a verb is word that expresses an action or state.

O : OBJECT = like a person, place, or thing.

ADVERB 

M : MANNER = tell us how someone or does something happens.

P : PLACE = tell us where something happens.

T : TIME = for describes when for how long or how often a certain action happened.

Example :  

Transitive and Intransitive

Transitive verb requires object for the sentences. Meanwhile, Intrasitive verb do not require an object for the sentences.
